Create a Facebook Fanpage Using Blogger

You might be wondering how it can be done? How you can make a Facebook fanpage with Blogger. Or maybe who have used Blogger to create a Facebook Fanpage or maybe who the heck will make a Fanpage with Blogger? Well, I really don't know. 

Who then might use this idea? First, those who are short in budget and cannot afford to buy a hosting account for their Wordpress website. This can also be for those who wants to create their own fan page without spending too much. Second, someone who wants to embed a whole website inside Facebook without using Wordpress. But, they have to know a little HTML of course if they really want to customize and design their website. Third, someone who wants to fully customize their own fanpage inside Facebook, unlike when they are using free Facebook apps which is usually add supported and with limited customization options.   



So now, how do you achieve this?   


1. You have to create a Blogger.com account, because that is where you'll create your website. 




2. Choose a name for your website. If you already have a website, you can name your Blogger website something like: example: homebuff-fanpage.blogspot.com it won't show up in Facebook anyway. 

3. Then After Creating your blog, choose the Simple Template, I recommend choosing the Black and White Simple Template.

4. Now, go to Blogger Template Designer>>Layout and choose the layout you want, I do not recommend putting any sidebars, because it will look too bulky, but choose to your liking.

5. Then adjust the widths, since Facebook Page can only hold to 520pixels wide, I recommend adjusting your width to 510 or to 500 pixels wide.

6. Then Save your Template.   

7. Then go to Facebook and Create a Page. 

8. I recommend putting your website, the main website is much preferred, I just put the fanpage website for tutorial purposes.

9. Then on the search bar in Facebook type Iframe, Choose the "IFrame Apps".

10. Select the Facebook Page that you want to set-up your fanpage, then choose "Display Method" as "Base Url". Put the url of the blogspot page we made earlier (or the sample blogger fanpage) in the "IFrame Url Box". Then Submit.

11. Once done, go to your Fanpage and Click the "Edit Page" Button.  Go to>> Manage Permissions. On the Default Landing Page Select the Tab you want to Appear, in this case we will select the "Welcome" tab which is the name of our "Iframe Apps".

12. Save your changes and Preview your page. This is how it will look like in Facebook   

As you can see, I have made some tweaks, like changing the header and removing the attribution at the bottom. You can actually customize your fanpage in Blogger as you like. Those with HTML knowledge have more advantage. Hope you learned something in this post that you might put into use.
